A LOCK, A KEY: BOUND FOR ETERNITY
An antique brass lock,
A key worn with time—
An entrance to the past,
History’s motion,
A journey back, forward,
To the present moment.
One lock, one key,
Anchored beyond time,
Securing treasures old and new,
Binding two into one,
A united force,
Strong, resilient, steadfast,
Resistant to corrosion.
The lock, the key,
Fashioned before time,
By the Maker of all,
Destined to join as one—
This day set apart,
Forged in heaven,
Planted on earth,
In Christ, one love,
Bound for eternity.
Celebrating with angels,
Two become one flesh,
To honor and glorify their Maker.
A lock, a key—
One lock, one key,
Now and forever,
United beyond time.
Dedication: A wedding poem written for my daughter Blessing and her groom, Terran Clark, in honor of their union on this day of November 2nd, 2024. May your love for each other be as strong and enduring as the lock and key that symbolize your union.
